RYE ROTARY EXTENDS SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO JULIE KATTAN AND HER FAMILY FOR THE PASSING OF HER FATHER, OUR BELOVED FORMER PRESIDENT AND BELOVED MEMBER OF RYE, DR. JOSEPH SOURY.  DR. SOURY WAS A BELOVED MEMBER OF THE RYE COMMUNITY AND LONG TIME PRINCIPAL OF MIDLAND SCHOOL. HIS LIFE TOUCHED COUNTLESS LIVES WITH HIS KINDNESS, CARING AND ABOVE ALL HIS DRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE AND HELPING OTHERS.  WE WILL MISS HIM ALWAYS AND THINK OF HIM AS WE ALL EXTEND OUR PRAYERS FOR THE HEALING OF HIS FAMILY AND TO CARRY ON AS HE WOULD WISH.
 
WE WILL ALWAYS ALWAYS THINK OF YOU, DEAR JOE.

THIS WEEK’S MEETING AT RUBY’S:
 
President Jason called the Meeting to order.  The Patriotic Song was sung and the Pledge of Allegiance said.
 
The Invocation:   “Let us be thankful for hard work and dedication which unite us in celebration of success.  Thanks for the friends that surround us, the trials that strengthen us, the work of our hands and the joys in our lives.”
 
Jason opened the meeting by mentioning the great success of our REVIVED ANNUAL RYE ROTATY GOLF OUTING.
 
He thanked Chairpersons  Rich Martinelli and Raul Bello and the Golf Committee  Melanie Ciraco, Pam Dwyer, Robert Manheimer, Jason L. Mehler, Angela Sculti
 
We have two applicants for membership: Christine Sculti and Jake Chittenden and one transferring member, Dr. Brian Monahan.  Membership process in progress.
 
Jason reminds all that guests are always welcome to attend meetings and events.
 
He mentioned we are trying to organize a December
Holiday Rye Rotary Social with Angela Scult helming the effort.

 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THE 2ND ANNUAL “CRAZY LEGS” FUNDRAISER NEXT YEAR, CONTACT PAM D. OR ANGELA S.
 
PAM MADE MENTION THAT  HER WEBSTER BANK BRANCH IS THE COLLECTION SITE FOR A.Y.F.A. WHICH COLLECTS USED AND OLD MEDICAL SUPPLIES.  ALSO PENS AND PENCILS ARE NEEDED TO DISTRIBUTE.
 
Louise Bryant spoke about the Bread of Life Project and mentioned we will be scheduling slots soon. One slot per month.
 
 
 
***A formal Induction for Superintendant Brian Monahan will be held at our next meeting: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21.
 
Our Guest Speaker was Deputy Mayor Julie Killian who spoke about her platform.
