Members ... please give the club your support by attending the Crazy Legs Event.
Many of us have worked very hard to put this event together.
Unless we have your participation and attendance, it will not be successful.
The continuation of our scholarship program is dependent upon this fundraising effort.

At the January 6, 2017 regular meeting of Rye Rotary the membership discussed the need to amend the bylaws of our club which were last amended in 2007. The current bylaws have provisions that are no longer applicable nor practical and apply to a structure no longer advocated by our parent organization, Rotary International.Image result for "document graphic"

Please click here to review the latest version of the proposed changes to the bylaws. In the proposed revision, highlighted in yellow, is the wording that has been amended. Please refer to our current bylaws to understand what wording is now in place.

For those of you interested in doing so, the Board welcomes and encourages all your comments and suggestions.  Please direct your comments and suggestions to manheimer@verizon.net and the Board will review them and do their best to incorporate them into a final draft.

In accordance with the existing amendment process, the final draft will be distributed to membership by email at least 10 days in advance of ourregularly scheduled meeting on March 31, 2017, at which time the latest revisions will be discussed and the amendments voted on. Bylaws can be amended at any regular meeting as long as there is a quorum present, by a two-thirds vote of all members present.

WE ARE WELCOMING NEW SPEAKERS AT THIS TIME !!

President Jason introduced our guest speaker, Vincent Pastore, a well known actor who was well known from his leading role in “The Sopranos” .  Unfortunately, he was “killed off” in the show though.  He hails from Harrison and Portchester and went to New Rochelle High School.  A long standing resident of Westchester, and after his schooling, he enlisted in the Navy. Following he tried to go to schools of dramatic arts to pursue the field he loved.  He was an owner of bars in the New Rochelle area and here is where he met the actor, Matt Dillon, who become his advocate and invited him into Hollywood.  He was warmly welcomed and applauded by all.

Respectfully submitted,
Melanie R. Ciraco
