Rye Rotary Bylaws to be Amended

At the January 6, 2017 regular meeting of Rye Rotary the membership discussed the need to amend the bylaws of our club which were last amended in 2007. The current bylaws have provisions that are no longer applicable nor practical and apply to a structure no longer advocated by our parent organization, Rotary International.

Please click go to our website ryerotary.org  to review the latest version of the proposed changes to the bylaws. In the proposed revision, highlighted in yellow, is the wording that has been amended. Please refer to our current bylaws (posted under "Links" on our website) to understand what wording is now in place.

For those of you interested in doing so, the Board welcomes and encourages all your comments and suggestions.  Please direct your comments and suggestions to manheimer@verizon.net and the Board will review them and do their best to incorporate them into a final draft.

In accordance with the existing amendment process, the final draft will be distributed to membership by email at least 10 days in advance of one of our regularly scheduled meetings, probably a meeting sometime in March, at which time the latest revisions will be discussed and the amendments voted on. Bylaws can be amended at any regular meeting as long as there is a quorum present, by a two-thirds vote of all members present.
